Highland Music Trust Grants

The Highland Music Trust is accepting applications for grants up to £1000 for projects which 'contribute to the advancement of education in and knowledge of Scottish national and traditional music'.

The Highland Music Trust was established for the advancement of education in and knowledge of Scottish national and traditional music. Having itself contributed to this objective by reprinting a number of important collections of Scottish fiddle music, it is likely to continue its own practice by recreating further collections and placing them on its website for free download.

The Trust will consider grant applications from individuals and organisations for projects which, in the Trustees’ opinion, will contribute to the advancement of education in and knowledge of Scottish national and traditional music. Preference will be given to events, research, publications, recordings and other activities which have the potential to benefit the public rather than an individual.

Applications may be submitted at any time. They should be in writing, and should include details of the applicant, the project, the costs and the anticipated source of other funding, with a statement of the perceived public benefit. The amount of grant would not normally exceed £1,000, but funding for events of a continuing nature could be considered on an annual basis.
